Supply Update: June 2018

At the HiveXchange we work closely with our network of suppliers and agents to provide buyers with consistent supply of a diverse range of quality produce. With suppliers from all over Australia and the capacity to sell into more markets, the HiveXchange makes it easy to source quality at the right price.

Lines to Watch

QLD STRAWBERRIES – have started and while they’re currently pricing high, the quality is good and over the coming weeks prices should even out. All indicators point to a strong season ahead.

HASS AVOCADOS  – the markets are full of good gear with fruit size up and prices sitting a little lower due to higher volumes.

CITRUS – lemons and grapefruits are in abundance at the markets, pricing and eating well. Imperial mandarins starting to slow down with sizes dropping off, Hicksons ready to step in

POMEGRANATES – not only are they plentiful in the markets, they’re great eating this season

Seasonal Picks on the HiveXchange

Now that the colder weather has set in, we’re seeing quality winter produce coming through in reasonable numbers with pricing within range.

POTATOES/ONIONS (SA) – the bedrock of comfort food, good supply of white and red skins available

PUMPKINS (North QLD) – coming back into season in the coming week/s

SWEET POTATO (QLD) – pricing well and in good supply
