The HiveXchange is Australia’s first digital marketplace for wholesale trade of fresh fruit and vegetables. We are already known in the industry as a potential game changer for the B2B primary produce trade in Australia with opportunity for growth in Asia in the immediate future.
If you are interested in a new challenge and committed to building the best solutions for a digital supply chain marketplace, this could be what you are looking for.
What you’ll do
Support the further development of our system. Being early on board, you’ll be right at the sharp end of suggesting ideas and creating to not just build a product, but a great experience for the users of our marketplace.
Day-to-day you will be working in a flexible “give and take” environment. We are quite fast-paced, and you’ll be working on more than one task at a time. Across the business, we are a small team of 8, so getting along and being open to feedback and suggestions is pretty important.
We are looking for someone who is passionate about software development and solving real problems, we are not a code factory. Primarily it’s about your understanding and application of technology and desire to learn more. Improving yourself and our system is the goal.
Getting more tech specific, some key skills include understanding how to build a single page web app which connects to an API and building a RESTful API which responds with JSON.
The technology we use:
- Node JS – Express
- HTML and CSS – Bootstrap framework
- Ubuntu servers
- Atlassian tools such as JIRA and Bitbucket
We’d love to see some examples of projects you’ve worked on, even just little projects you’ve done whilst playing around with new technologies. What degree you have or don’t have is far less important than a demonstrated ability to use some creativity and drive to build something. Years of experience are also less important than quality output that you can demonstrate. An interest in quality produce or a consumer of it is a bonus 😉
An actual flexible “give and take” work environment. Not just throwing a ping pong table in the boardroom and pretending we’re Google.
The opportunity to be closer to the top of a growing organisation. As just the second dedicated technical person on the team, there are huge opportunities to make HiveXchange successful together.
Use your choice of equipment and development tools.
Bring your ideas to the table and they’ll be heard.
